As an artist I am most interested in capturing how light wraps around and over forms.  Light works like water in a stream - there are sections where the light will back up against an object forming, as it were, 'white water' of light.  These will be the lightest parts of the painting and the highlights.  The dark areas are like eddies.  It's not black or opaque, but like this still area in a stream where one can see into the water, one should be able to see into the dark areas of a painting.  

My second, and equally important, interest is the use of color. I use a limited palette of colors which allows a harmony in my paintings that I hope translates to you, the viewer. My goal is to draw you in to a quiet space where you feel compelled to stay for a while.
