Where our roots touch (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Francesca Borgo

40 x 40 x 3.3cm (unframed) / 40 x 40cm (actual image size)

£502.96

Where our roots touch explores the quiet depth of connection — the unseen places where two lives meet and begin to intertwine.

Soft, wave-like forms emerge from a textured ground, unfolding like currents or drifting clouds in motion. Built with acrylic and natural sand, the surface carries a tactile presence where shades of grey and white blend into one another, creating a sense of depth, atmosphere, and gentle movement. Light moves across the composition, revealing a subtle interplay between blurred and more defined passages, as if forms were continuously forming and dissolving.

The painting suggests a landscape where separation is only apparent. Beneath the surface, elements gather, overlap, and support one another, evoking a quiet bond that does not need to be fully visible to be felt. Like roots growing beneath the ground, connection unfolds slowly — resilient, evolving, and held over time.

This balance between fluidity and structure creates a contemplative rhythm, where stillness and motion coexist. At once serene and atmospheric, the work invites a slower gaze, offering both an emotional resonance and a refined visual presence.

With its restrained palette and layered texture, the painting integrates naturally into contemporary interiors, bringing depth, softness, and a sense of quiet continuity to the space.
