When time slows down (2026) Original Oil Painting by Gabriel - Cristian Matei

We live wrapped in glitter,
in a world that shouts out recipes for happiness
and constantly tells us how we should live,
instead of simply allowing us to be.
But true beauty makes no noise.
Sometimes it slips in quietly, barefoot,
into those lazy afternoons spent at home,
when time loses its sense of direction
and the rush finally fades away.
It breathes in an unexpected breeze
bringing a touch of coolness to a hot summer,
in a flower opening on the balcony,
in the taste of morning coffee enjoyed in silence,
or in the gentle surrender of lying in a hammock,
our faces caressed by the soft light of the sun.
Beauty cannot be measured or confined to a canon.
It lives in the quiet grace of simple things,
in those moments when we have nothing left to prove
and simply living in the moment is enough.
