I painted What Are We Waiting For? to capture the electric tension between longing and action. The subject’s gaze is fixed upward and away, illuminated by a sharp, warm light that suggests a dawning realization or a distant goal finally coming into view. Set against a vibrant cerulean blue sky and framed by lush green leaves, the composition reflects the vital energy of a spirit that is no longer content to stand still. This work is a visual question, challenging the viewer to identify the barriers keeping them from their own "limitless potential" and "endless opportunities".

In this portrait, I used bold, high-contrast earth tones and rhythmic brushwork to emphasize the physical presence of the subject. The interplay of deep shadows and bright ochre highlights on the skin mirrors the internal struggle of moving from a state of waiting into one of active pursuit.
