Weekend (2013) Original Oil Painting by Alexander Levich

200 x 105 x 2cm (unframed)

3 Artist Reviews

£5,208.75

Alexander Levich’s Weekend captures an outdoor terrace during a snowstorm. Tables and chairs stand beneath three canopy structures, their outlines softened almost to disappearance. Small warm lights remain visible within the surrounding pale blue and white.

Levich particularly appreciates this work because conveying the fleeting scene required a subtle balance of light and colour. Gentle tonal transitions create the enveloping atmosphere, while fine peach and blue-green lines allow the terrace to remain just recognisable.

The painting was shown in his thematic solo exhibition Weekend. Its concept came from a true romantic story of a November evening when sudden snowfall created the feeling that only two loved ones remained in a disappearing world.

Painted in oil on canvas in 2013, the work measures 105 × 200 × 2 cm. Its broad format gives the viewer space to experience both the expanse of the snowstorm and the fragile details within it.
