Water's Glow (2026) Original Oil Painting by Michelle Gibbs

This painting comes from my love of light on water and the years I've spent studying the masters, learning how they built up colour and captured that magical stillness on a pond. It's my own impression of a water garden, all that dappled light filtering through green and teal, with soft touches of pink breaking through like water lilies catching the sun.

Painted in oils, layer upon layer to build that sense of depth and glow, this piece is about losing yourself in the reflections. I wanted it to feel like a quiet moment by the water, where the light and colour do all the talking.
