Water silk & Light (2026) Original Watercolour by Oksana Shvachka

57 x 38 x 0.1cm (unframed) / 53 x 34.3cm (actual image size)

£405.41

Water, Silk & Light captures a fleeting moment of sunlight shimmering across the surface of water. Delicate watercolor layers create luminous reflections and subtle movement, transforming the water into something that feels almost like silk. The painting is part of my ongoing series "States of Water", which explores water as a changing state of emotion, memory and inner experience.
The painting balances realism and abstraction: at first glance, the viewer sees the recognizable beauty of rippling water, while closer observation reveals an interplay of light, colour, transparency and expressive watercolor textures.
Inspired by the quiet, ever-changing beauty of water and the way natural light can transform its surface, this piece creates a calm and immersive atmosphere. Its fluid composition and luminous blue tones make it a serene contemporary work for a space where light, movement and simplicity can be appreciated.
