The inspiration lies in minimalist painting and abstract expressionism. The two light-blue brushstrokes (or paint remnants) in the upper section introduce a gestural, spontaneous element that contrasts with the hard, peeling, dark line at the bottom. This lower edge acts as a distinct horizon or threshold, separating the clean, untouched space from heavy, dense matter. I am fascinated by how few elements are needed to create a monumental composition with strong emotional charge.
I aim to evoke a sense of calm, silence, and breathing room, while also maintaining tension at the boundary. I want viewers to perceive a deliberate, abstract painting, encouraging them to reflect on what lies beneath the "clean" facade. It is a quiet portrait of a wall that has become a canvas for the contrast between lightness and weight.
