Original artwork description
“VOLT” arises from the convergence of exhausted material and rediscovered energy.
The work is composed of 4,500 tobacco sticks, discarded items destined to reach the end of their useful life and lose all value. Through a process of collection, sanitisation and manual assembly, this material is rescued from its ordinary fate and transformed into a visual surface, rhythm and vibration.
The title evokes the electrical tension and the colour palette of the work: yellow and purple, colours associated with light, electricity and energy. The sticks, arranged in a fragmented pattern, create a gradual transition from one colour to another, generating a continuous perceptual tension. The composition appears to be traversed by an internal flow, as if the material itself were being reactivated.
In “Volt”, that which has exhausted its functional life is restored to a state of maximum intensity. Waste is no longer a waste, but a possibility; it is no longer an end, but a transformation. The work reflects on the cycle of matter and the potential hidden within what is discarded, restoring aesthetic and symbolic energy to a material destined to be consumed and forgotten.
