Title: Misteri a Venezia
Dimensions: 120x120 cm
Year 2024
Material: High-quality oil on canvas
Signature: Signed in the lower right corner

In my painting "Mysteries of Venice," I aim to capture the enigmatic essence and hidden nuances of Venice, a city that breathes mystery in every corner. With each stroke, I strive to bring to light those unexplored and often overlooked aspects of a city steeped in history, culture, and art. Using a bold and vibrant color palette, I explore the dynamic interplay between light and shadow, reflections on water that sparkle under a changing sky.

The use of the palette knife is deliberate, meant to add materiality and body to the colors that spread across the canvas like the many stories scattered in the mist of Venice. This method allows me to build rich and deep textures that invite the viewer to dive fully into the work, discovering details that only careful observation can reveal.

This painting is an invitation to get lost, to navigate through the emotions and hidden stories behind every corner of this labyrinthine city. Shapes dissolve and recombine, akin to the ancient facades reflected in the calm waters of the canals, suggesting more than they actually show. "Mysteries of Venice" is a dialogue between past and present, a visual exploration that defies time and history, offering a new interpretation of one of the world's most enchanting cities.

This work is a tribute to Venice's ability to keep its secrets, even as it exposes itself to the gaze of millions of visitors. Every element, from a flowered balcony to a solitary gondola, contributes to a visual narrative that I hope resonates with viewers, stimulating insatiable curiosity and a deep appreciation for the beauty that lies in the shadows.

Materials used:

First-rate oil colors of the Florentine brand "DI VOLO" applied with spatula were used for the painting, and the pictorial support is a cottono canvas pre-painted for oil painting with Gesso and Glue.
