This painting was created from life during a plein air session in spring, at sunset, in the Carpathian Mountains of Ukraine. The evening light transformed the fresh spring greenery every minute, filling the landscape with unexpected shades that felt somewhere between spring and autumn.

While painting, I had the feeling of standing between two seasons at once — surrounded by the vibrant awakening of nature and the warm golden tones usually belonging to autumn. The changing sunlight, mountain air, and atmosphere of the moment became an essential part of this artwork.

Painted with expressive, confident brushstrokes, the work captures not only the view of Hoverla, the highest mountain in Ukraine, but also the fleeting emotional experience of painting directly from nature.
