Original artwork description
I love fog because it makes familiar things mysterious. Mystery without fear or danger — that's something I find interesting to work with in general.
This painting is the Venetian Lagoon in February, during Carnival.
I enjoy deconstructing what I see, breaking it down into separate shapes, making it less recognisable, and exploring where the boundary between the familiar and the incomprehensible actually lies.
Fog is a great help in this process.

Acrylic paint and markers

- Size: 40 x 30 x 5cm
