£1,303.7

Vase Composition XV’25 continues the artist’s exploration of still life as a field of material and perceptual balance, where form is distilled to its most essential presence.

The composition unfolds through a dialogue of vertical and horizontal structures: a vessel and a bowl emerge as quiet archetypes, defined by fluid, continuous contours. These forms do not assert themselves as objects alone, but as spatial intervals—anchored within a rhythmic interplay of line, texture, and ground.

Executed through the punch needle technique, the surface acquires a subtle relief. Wool and alpaca fibers accumulate into a tactile topography, where variations in density and direction modulate the interaction with light. This shifting surface transforms the work into a temporal experience, revealing different nuances as the viewer moves around it.

The linen ground remains visibly active, marked by a distinctive diagonal rhythm that contrasts with the structured base supporting the forms. This interplay between directional patterns introduces a quiet tension, reinforcing the balance between order and irregularity.

Material authenticity is central to the work. Natural fibers—linen, wool, and alpaca—retain their inherent qualities, aligning the piece with a contemporary sensibility rooted in tactility, restraint, and the aesthetics of wabi-sabi.

In Vase Composition XV’25, the traditional still life is reinterpreted as a spatial and material meditation—an artwork that exists not only as image, but as presence.
