Artist's description:

In almost abandoned village on Croatian island Cres someone put bones of a wild boar among the rocks. Together with blackberry branches it appears to me like a weird dark still life in a landscape. In the hot bright summer afternoon animal bones were shining from the chaos of branches, rocks and deep shadows.
Theme VANITAS was very popular in some periods of Art History, like Golden Age of Holand Painting in the 17 Century. Vanitas means vanity, like everything is futile, nothing lasts.
I like to think that my drawing is a small contribution to that theme.

Materials used:

graphite pencils, thick quality paper
