I wanted to capture the dramatic moment when the setting sun seems to ignite an entire mountain valley. Fiery oranges, yellows, and reds fill the sky, creating a powerful contrast with the cool blue-violet cliffs and the quiet river below. The water leads the eye naturally into the distance, while birds sweeping across the river bring a sense of freedom and life to the vast landscape. I used bold, simplified shapes and directional brushstrokes to construct the mountains, sky, and water, while contrasts of light, temperature, and reflection create depth and give the peaceful scene a strong sense of energy and drama.
