Upper Street, Islington was painted directly from life on one of North London's best-known streets, capturing the energy and atmosphere of everyday city life.

I was drawn to the interplay of light, architecture and the constant movement of people through the street. Rather than focusing on individual details, I wanted to convey the character of the place and the fleeting qualities that make London such an endlessly inspiring city to paint.

Created entirely from direct observation, this original oil painting reflects my belief that the most meaningful paintings are rooted in genuine experience, capturing not only how a place looks, but what it feels like to stand there.
