Unwritten (2026) Original Watercolour by Ana Ozz

Original artwork description
A female figure remains deliberately incomplete, suspended between presence and absence.
This original watercolor on 100% cotton paper explores identity through restraint rather than description. Loose black lines establish the seated body without fixing its boundaries, while translucent fields of indigo, olive, muted blue, and ochre occupy only selected areas of the composition.
The untouched paper is central to the work. Rather than functioning as passive background, the white space becomes part of the figure’s psychological state, suggesting what remains undefined, unresolved, or still possible. Overlapping contours introduce further instability, allowing the body to appear simultaneously present and unfinished.
The work belongs to an ongoing figurative series centered on femininity, internal experience, and the relationship between line, color, and empty space. Its preserved deckled edge reinforces the material identity of the sheet and emphasizes the intimacy of the original work on paper.
The piece may appeal to collectors interested in contemporary watercolor, minimalist figurative art, expressive drawing, and works that approach identity as an evolving rather than fixed condition.
