This artwork is a visual exploration of the internal friction between chaos and clarity. Working with a strictly limited monochromatic palette allows me to strip away all distractions and focus entirely on the raw energy of gesture, texture, and space. In this piece, the heavy, aggressive black brushstrokes in the lower quadrant represent the weight of unexpressed emotions and the complex noises of the mind. In contrast, the sweeping washes of white and gray embody the physical act of clearing mental space—a deliberate pursuit of calm amidst confusion. The fine, structural lines cutting through the composition act as anchors, mapping a path through an unpredictable landscape. Ultimately, this work is about the delicate balance of duality: it invites the viewer to step into the tension between what we choose to overwrite and what we allow to bleed through to the surface.
