Original artwork description
Universe Roly-Poly is about worlds intertwining — realities touching, overlapping and flowing into one another. Its floating forms seem to move between different planes, sometimes becoming almost recognizable — a figure, a creature, a landscape — and then dissolving again. Perhaps it was into one of these realities that Don Juan entered.
Like a roly-poly toy, this universe may tilt, turn and lose its balance for a moment, but it always finds its way back. For me, the work carries this quiet sense of resilience: the ability to remain alive, curious and open while everything around us keeps changing.
Painted intuitively in translucent layers of gouache, the image is deliberately left unresolved, allowing each viewer to move between these worlds and discover their own forms, stories and associations within them.
