Original Bronze Sculpture
"Under the Maple" is an original bronze sculpture that explores the profound, intimate relationship between a house and a majestic maple tree. This piece captures the silent dialogue between man-made shelter and the living forest, where the architectural lines of a small roof organically merge with the expansive crown of a tree. It reflects how a home becomes part of the tree’s shadow, and how the surrounding landscape becomes an inseparable part of the home’s soul.
As part of my "Handscapes" series, this work embodies the belief that a landscape is not just a visual view, but something to be felt and shaped by hand. Serving as an "Anchor of Silence," it invites the viewer to mentally touch the horizon and experience the rhythmic harmony of our natural environment.
Technique & Craftsmanship
Meticulously handcrafted by Nerijus Kisielius in his private foundry studio, this sculpture is cast using the traditional lost-wax bronze method (cire perdue). Finished in a high-temperature 1200°C fire, the artwork perfectly bridges the gap between the rough, organic textures of nature and the eternal, enduring strength of bronze.
