Uncertain (2024) Original Mixed-media Sculpture by Olya Tereschuk

Uncertain is a two-part textile work from my Forest of Unrooted Trees series, exploring family, lineage, belonging and the fragile connections between people and place.
The branching forms are constructed from individual threads and embroidered onto sheer organza. Because the surface is translucent, the wall behind the artwork remains visible and becomes part of the composition.
The two elements are intentionally separated, creating a physical gap within the branching structure — a space that suggests uncertainty, distance and connection at the same time.
Each element is framed in a wooden floater frame and the diptych is ready to hang.
This is a one-of-a-kind original textile artwork, signed on the back.
Materials: organza, cotton thread, canvas, embroidery and wood.
