Original artwork description
"Udana" takes its name from the Sanskrit term that evokes an openness towards consciousness, understood as both individual and collective awareness. The work is created using 3.300 recycled tobacco sticks and serves as a reflection on the relationship between human behaviour, the environment and our daily responsibilities.
The composition, built around shades of black, copper and brown, represents an upward movement. This transformation symbolises a journey of liberation and awareness, in which material loses its weight to allow a purer, more essential space to emerge.
Udana is intended as an invitation to observe small daily gestures more closely, such as not littering cigarette butts. Through the recovery and transformation of waste material, the work suggests that every collective change begins first and foremost with a personal and conscious choice.
