Two Worlds – One Connection (2026) Original Wood Sculpture by Roland Köpfer

This sculpture, carved from cypress wood, explores the meeting of two people from different cultural worlds. They are closely connected, forming a unified, upward-reaching figure.
Their merging bodies and faces turned toward one another symbolize closeness, trust, and mutual complementarity. Despite their differing cultural backgrounds, the two figures do not appear separate; rather, they seem part of a shared story. The man’s upward movement can be interpreted as a symbol of hope, new beginnings, and a future shaped together.
The cypress wood features cracks formed when the tree fell; these are intentionally incorporated into the sculpture’s design. The reddish wood remains untreated, allowing the subtle scent of the cypress to permeate the room.
The sculpture views cultural diversity as an enrichment and tells the story of a relationship in which two individual life paths merge into a shared journey.
