Original artwork description
Twinslation Error is an 18 by 24 inch gold leaf portrait. Two figures stand side by side, facing in opposite directions. It is one of the earliest full Auruscript portraits in my body of work.
Their bodies are not drawn in conventional lines. They are assembled from dense fields of gold writing, turning script into contour, structure, and presence. The image reads as a double portrait and a visual misreading at once: a shift, a split, a near translation that produces another self.
Identity divides, echoes, and repeats without ever becoming identical. The gold does not sit on the figures as decoration. It constructs them completely. On the black ground, the script behaves like surface, edge, rhythm, and weight, giving the pair a quiet tension between symmetry and difference.
