Printed in a limited edition of only 10, each print is created by hand using 11 carefully printed layers of Caligo Safe Wash oil-based ink, resulting in remarkable depth, rich colours, and intricate detail.

My inspiration comes from the animals that brighten my everyday life. My studio is surrounded by the Dutch countryside, where I paint while listening to sheep grazing, horses neighing, and goats wandering nearby. Their presence fills me with joy and peace, and I love capturing that feeling in my artwork. The decorative style is inspired by the flowing lines and organic beauty of Art Nouveau, particularly the work of William Morris and Alphonse Mucha.

I spent more than two months designing, carving, and printing this edition. Every print is pulled by hand, making each one subtly unique. Small variations in colour mixing, ink application, and pressure are part of the traditional printmaking process and give every impression its own individual character.
This is a reduction linocut, one of the most challenging printmaking techniques. After each colour is printed, more of the linoleum block is carved away before the next layer is added. Once a layer has been cut, there is no way back—mistakes cannot be corrected. Creating a successful edition therefore requires careful planning, precision, and patience. This artwork consists of 11 carving and printing stages.
