Tondo-9 (2024) Original Mixed-media Painting by Olya Tereschuk

Tondo-9 belongs to my ongoing series of circular mixed-media landscapes exploring memory, atmosphere and the boundary between water, land and sky.
The painted surface is built in soft layers of watercolor, ink and acrylic, while embroidered lines add a tactile rhythm to the composition. The contrast between fluid painted areas and raised thread gives the work a physical quality that becomes more apparent at close viewing distance.
The circular format removes the conventional rectangular boundary of landscape and turns the image into a contained fragment — more like a memory of a place than a literal view.

This is a one-of-a-kind original mixed-media artwork, signed on the back and ready to hang.
