In my painting, I've portrayed a semi-nude man from the mid-bust up, caught between the tangible world and the shadows of the soul.
The work is subtly influenced by the artistry of Francis Bacon, even if that influence wasn't entirely conscious. The figure, observed both from the front and back, presents itself as a human puzzle, its vulnerability laid bare.
The facial features dissolve into a tapestry of twisted and subdued emotions. Brushstrokes, lively and disordered in the style of Bacon, lay bare inner turmoil and the delicate nature of the human experience. This transforms the painting into a distorted reflection of our very existence.
