Tiger in the Blue Current (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Elena Bogatova

Tiger in the Blue Current is an original acrylic painting capturing the power, focus and untamed spirit of a tiger moving through swirling blue water.

The tiger advances directly toward the viewer, its amber eyes fixed forward and its striped body partially submerged in the rushing waves. Its raised tail adds a graceful curve to the composition, contrasting with the strong forward movement of the body and the restless rhythm of the water.

Fiery orange fur and bold black stripes stand out against layers of icy blue, turquoise, deep teal and luminous white foam. Expressive brushstrokes follow the currents, creating a sense of energy, depth and continuous motion. The visible canvas texture and contrasting colours give the painting a tactile, vibrant quality.

I wanted to bring together two powerful forces: the tiger’s quiet determination and the restless movement of water. The animal appears focused and self-assured, moving through the waves with a sense of purpose. Rather than depicting wildlife as a distant spectacle, the close perspective creates an immediate connection between the viewer and this remarkable creature.

This contemporary wildlife artwork makes a striking focal point in a living room, study or creative space, bringing movement, cool aquatic colour and the powerful presence of the wild into an interior.
