“Threshold” is part of my ongoing series exploring silence, memory, and emotional presence through animal imagery. The dog here is not only a figure, but a witness — calm, distant, almost human in its stillness.

I was interested in the feeling of transitional moments: the quiet second before leaving, returning, or changing. The glowing doorway contrasts with the cool interior tones, creating an atmosphere that feels cinematic and deeply personal at the same time.

Painted in expressive oil brushstrokes, the work balances softness and tension, realism and dreamlike distortion.
