This is a picture based on a photograph that I took at Wimbledon Dog racing before it closed down. Greyhounds are a challenge to capture as they pass by so fast.

On the painting I painted a dramatic sky to accentuate the speed of the winning dog. I also painted the dogs that the also rans fumbling anf struggling to accentuate the concept. I also used lush thick paint to accentuate the power of the image.

Winning, oh winning, what a sweet sound,
The feeling of victory, oh so profound.
The triumph of effort, the fruit of labor,
A moment of glory that one can savor.
It's not just the prize or the accolades won,
It's the journey of hard work and the battles won.
The sweat and the tears shed along the way,
