What if, one day, a St Petersburg tram stopped being limited to its familiar tracks and took to the sky? This original artwork invites us to imagine a future St Petersburg where the boundaries between everyday city life and outer space gradually disappear.
In this artist’s original painting, wintertime St Petersburg appears in an unusual and fantastical reality. Through the window, we see the familiar view of Kazan Cathedral, snow-covered streets, cars, and the peaceful rhythm of city life. But above St Petersburg, instead of an ordinary winter sky, a vast lilac-colored cosmic space unfolds, filled with stars and enormous planets. And among them, a St Petersburg tram travels quite casually — as if it were simply following its regular city route. This canvas painting combines a recognizable urban landscape with science fiction and a touch of humor, transforming familiar St Petersburg into a scene from the future.
Perhaps one day St Petersburg will have a form of public transport that no longer needs intersections, traffic lights, or even roads. About artist:
