Many painters observe that, by the end of the day, their palette looks more beautiful than the canvas itself. The style of this piece represents my attempt to capture, as closely as possible, the look of colors randomly mixed on a palette. These multicolored patches often suggest shapes; here, they depict an adult woman happily swinging while a line of children wait for their turn. With this work, I wanted to portray a psychologically uncomfortable situation—where it is impossible to truly enjoy oneself while others wait—yet there are people whom this does not bother.
