The One Recognized is a 22 by 28 inch gold leaf portrait, entirely built from Auruscript, an invented script used as image, texture, and structure.
The figure is not drawn in ordinary lines. It is assembled from dense fields of gold writing. The script is not meant to be read as text. It becomes the figure’s surface, garment, shadow, and ornament all at once. The gold does not decorate the subject. It creates the subject.
Recognition here is not only facial. It is the moment a presence becomes visible through signs, marks, and accumulated attention.
