The Mirror (2025) Original Painting by Juliart

100 x 100cm (unframed)

£2,072.16

"The Mirror" is a monumental, conceptual mixed-media artwork (100x100 cm) with a distinguished exhibition history, having been displayed at the Unicusano headquarters in Rome (December 2025) and officially selected for the collective contemporary art exhibition "Roma Arte in Spazio Tempismo" at the Mitreo Arte Contemporanea in Rome (April 2026).

This artwork gives a powerful, visceral form to the ephemeral—capturing the volatile nature of human emotions as they violently emerge, leave a deep psychological imprint on the canvas, and then dissolve into the white space. At the heart of this dramatic monochrome composition, I have physically embedded a real, circular glass mirror.

This creates a profound structural and symbolic threshold: as the viewer stands before the chaotic, expressive energy of the painted faces, they suddenly encounter their own live reflection. In that exact moment, one can choose to recognize the fleeting, transient emotion of the current second, or look past it to glimpse an immutable, inner essence that never changes.

Please note: The embedded mirror features some minor, organic scratches. These light imperfections are an intentional part of the artwork's conceptual nature, symbolizing the wear, fractures, and passage of transient human emotions over time.

Materials used:

Acrylic, canva, mirror
