The Ledge (2025) Photograph by Filip Kojic

This image was inspired by the skyline of Los Angeles, a subject matter explored to no end by countless photographers.... I hope the image conveys the urban vastness of an environment like that of L.A., irrespective of how familiar or not the individual viewer happens to be. To me, it conveys the circle of life - endless possibilities as well as urban decay and nothingness. In that sense, it is a genuine philosophical play on life and death, particularly punctuated by the suggestive ledge protruding into thin air, inviting the observer to make a profound metaphorical decision.... I chose digital medium format for the frame size and color depth.
