THE SQUARE AND HISTORY (2010)Oil painting
by Paola Imposimato

1 Artist Review

£1,905.2

Original artwork description

The painting depicts the Palazzo della Signoria, the emblem of Florentine Renaissance beauty, giving prominence to a jewel placed in that square: “The Rape of the Sabine Women” by Giambologna. History, but also contemporaneity, are always exposed to a superior judgment that towers over the scene with its austere gaze. In my work, I played with oil to weave a surreal atmosphere and express historical depth and the enigmatic intertwining of past and present. The figurative style dances with symbolism, creating a space beyond time. Each element represents a fragment of interwoven stories, suggesting endless interpretations. This painting will bring a charge of mystery and beauty to your space, inviting reflection and imagination.
