Contemporary ceramic sculpture. Finished with coloured slips and glazes. Fired in an electric kiln at 1065°C.
A boy sitting quietly on the back of a sheep.
The sheep has always carried a few different meanings for me — gentleness, trust, innocence, but also the idea of following the others. Here I was more interested in the gentle side of it: a quiet animal carrying a child, with no hurry and no particular destination.
The boy seems completely at ease, as if this were the most natural way to travel.
Handmade in white clay and finished with earthy tones. I have left much of the texture of the clay visible, so the surface keeps the feeling of something made by hand.
