The Gathering (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Samantha Malone

"The Gathering" is an extra large abstract painting about strength, renewal and the need to keep moving forward. I wanted the interlocking, figure-like forms to feel as though they are coming together, leaning towards one another and finding energy through connection.

Deep black, burgundy, turquoise and blue are balanced by soft white, peach and ochre. Strong outlines give the composition structure, while visible brushwork and subtle texture keep it energetic and expressive. Influenced by my love of geometric abstraction and Cubism, the fragmented forms suggest bodies in motion and the enduring impulse to keep moving forward.
