THE FORGOTTEN GROUND (2026) Original Mixed-media Painting by Tanya Grover-Fedotova

41 x 51 x 0.45cm

£985

The Forgotten Ground

An original abstract mixed-media painting exploring the traces that places leave behind.

Layers of muted blue, ochre, grey, cream and deep red overlap with gestural marks, scratches, symbols and fragments of colour. The painting is built through a process of adding, covering, scraping and drawing — allowing earlier layers to remain partially visible beneath the surface.

The Forgotten Ground is inspired by the feeling of discovering a place that once had a life of its own: old walls, forgotten objects, weathered surfaces and memories that remain even after people have gone.

The work is intentionally raw and layered, combining expressive brushwork with oil pastel marks and spontaneous details. It is designed to reveal something different each time you look at it.

This is a one-of-a-kind original artwork.
