Original artwork description:

Thagomiser refers to the tail spike of a Stegosaurus. Thagomiser Creek is located in a secluded area near Morrison, Colorado which is the site of a rarely complete tail section of a Stegosaurus discovered in the 1870s during the so called "bone wars". The "bone wars" were an intense and ruthless competition between self descibed paleontologists Edward Drinker Cope and Othniel Charles Marsh from the 1870s, through the '80s and early '90s. It was really the beginning of scientific interest in fossil hunting and dinosaurs. The painting shows what this area looks like today.
I found this place during the wandering years of my earlier life and took photographs. Now I go through my extensive collection and pick ones for paintings. Comes complete with Rustic Deco frame ready for hanging. Painting only $200 less.

Materials used:

Canvas, oil paints, old barn boards
