TEREN (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Yuliia Naumenko

40 x 80 x 2cm (unframed)

£886.85

TEREN is the first of the complementary works in the TINI RODU series. This piece speaks about a strength that needs no explanation — about the ability to endure and not lose oneself.

The Symbolism & Details

Hand-Stitched Embroidery: Unlike painted elements, the red geometric pattern here is stitched by hand directly onto the canvas, acting as a separate layer of memory that becomes an integral part of the painting.

Teren (Blackthorn): A prickly, restrained plant associated in folklore with obstacles and experiences that transform us. Just like a person after what they have had to endure, its berries only soften and become sweeter after the cold.

The Blackbird: Rather than serving as a traditional folkloric symbol, the bird represents presence — someone who does not disappear or flee, but stays and looks straight ahead.

Materials used:

Acrylic on canvas, ink pen, handmade embroidery
