_table_for_fifteen/ (2025) Original Mixed-media Painting by Ilya Vartanian

_table_for_fifteen/ transforms the familiar structure of a shared table into a rhythmic field of repeated forms.
Circular elements retain associations with plates, dishes and a communal setting, while repetition and displacement gradually move the image away from literal representation. The recognizable motif remains present, but its original function gives way to a new visual order built through color, contour and rhythm.
The work reflects Ilya Vartanian’s broader investigation into how an image can change while preserving traces of its previous state.
