Original artwork description:

I made the Swimmer in Blue in 2018 as part of my 'water people' series. It was different from what I had made up until then and reached back to my more graphic work from when I was still at art school. The working title was 'Swimmer in Blue' but later hung under the title 'Dive in' at my solo exhibition. But as so often, the first thought was the best. I 'saw' this swimmer appear in the chaos on my canvas all of a sudden... Maybe I was inspired by the swimming competitions I saw on television. I remember how I enjoyed making my brush and rubber scraper dance across the canvas. Somehow, I just wanted to paint water without blue and without landscape...

The painting can be hung in various ways, according to one's own taste. That's why I will only sign the work on the back.

IMPORTANT: For Benelux costumers: The work is varnished for protection and an iron wire is attached to the back to make it ready to hang.
For costumers far away from the Netherlands:
Shipping costs are based on the transport of the stretched canvas in a crate or box. It will be ready to hang. BUT:
Outside or nearby EU-borders shipping can become very expensive. If the actual costs exceed expectations the painting will be shipped unstretched and rolled up in a tube with accompanying stretcher bars. It will not be ready to hang and has to be stretched on site. This will always be discussed in advance, of course. It saves a lot of shipping costs and is more environmentally friendly (less CO2).
