Original artwork description
Painted on-site on Minnehaha Parkway in Minneapolis.
Features a trio of spring crabapple trees alive with a vibrant mix of pink and magenta blossoms, and foliage in shades of copper, bronze, and deep red.
The tree branches sweep up to the left of the composition, whilst the fluffy white clouds drift to the right in a brilliant azure sky.
The trees are also bordered on each side by purple lilac blossoms, and accented by the bright spring green foliage in the background.
This painting was created using oil over a casein underpainting, with touches of iridescent oil mixed into the paint. The texture is thick, and accentuates the blossoms of the trees and lilacs.
Painted on canvas with 1.5" thick stretcher bars, the painting continues around the sides in a "gallery wrap" style which is ready to hang and requires no frame.
