Artwork description
A zesty composition of citrus fruit with leaves on a dark blue background.
I was inspired to make this piece from a visit to an orangery where there were clementine, orange and lemon trees in pots.
I started making this piece as a linocut for the background.
Each leaf and fruit was cut out of a piece out of thin board and when inked up separately, slightly varies with each piece using a monoprint technique.
The artwork took many weeks to make to build up the layers and hand colouring the outer glowing lines.
Hand inked and printed using an etching press onto Somerset paper.
Materials used:
printmaking inks on Somerset printmaking paper
