Sunlight in Sainte-Maxime (2025) Original Oil Painting by Dmitry Fedorov

Experience the vibrant charm of the French Riviera with this original plein air oil painting. Captured on location in the picturesque area between Sainte-Maxime and Saint-Tropez, this piece focuses on the quiet beauty of a sun-drenched coastal alley.
The artwork highlights the architectural elegance of traditional Provençal homes, set against a brilliant blue sky. I was particularly inspired by the interplay of light and shadow; the warm, golden hues of the limestone walls are contrasted beautifully by deep violet and lavender shadows stretching across the path.
Painted with expressive, textured brushstrokes (impasto), this piece brings a touch of the Mediterranean sun and the tranquil atmosphere of Southern France into any space.
