The summer of heatwaves and fires, I was going through a re-evaluation of my practice. With the invasion of AI, the collapsing of so many societal systems and the wild west of social media, I have been searching for something to create that has meaning and impact. This artwork does not offer answers, instead it is a reflection of the conflicts, uncertainty and stress I have been feeling. At the same time, it is a commitment to creativity – whatever form that may take, and however unrecognizable it may be. It is a rejection of artistic norms and expectations, driven by intuitive marks and strong emotions.
