Substrate Overload (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Koola Adams

This painting forms part of my Substrate series. It originated from the protective sheets I placed on my painting table to catch splatters and to clean my brushes. Over time, these fabrics accumulated random marks, swirls and layers of colour, gradually becoming artworks in their own right. I initially overlooked their potential until a friend pointed it out, prompting the beginning of the Substrate journey. This piece is one of the original sheets—an authentic record of those incidental, process‑driven gestures.

Comes in a black floating frame.
