Original artwork description
A series which slowly transitioned from sole Hyper-realist paintings to quasi abstract/realist works. The obstructive nature of juxtaposed imagery and jarring paint sensation really influenced my practice.
This portrait looks at a gestural swatch technique which combines flesh abstract marks alongside sharp realism. Its visceral approach has more of an emotional effect which challenge the banal expression and composition of the vacant sitter.
Creating the dichotomy of the bleak everyday with an immanent intensity really spoke to me as something to take forward into later works.
Materials used:
Oil paint
Details:
- Oil painting on Canvas
- One of a kind artwork
- Size: 75 x 75 x 7cm (framed)
- Framed and ready to hang
- Signed on the back
- Style: Photorealistic
- Subject: People and portraits
