Where were you for the eclipse August 2026? I live in the far west of Cornwall so we planned to be on the cliffs at Pendeen with the sun sinking over the sea. However a wildfire(thankfully brought under control) was drifting smoke into the sky so we had to move and drive around it. We came to rest at Sennen Cove, at the top of the hill, and there we stayed enjoying the phenomenon with so many others gathered there.

This piece has a subdued palette yet on closer inspection and when caught in certain lights, there is silver and gold shining through. The light on that day was strange and difficult to describe and even harder to capture in paint. I hope I have done it justice.

Please look at my Instagram account - theresa_shaw_artist - for a video of the painting that shows how it changes depending on the light/angle.
